Washington, DC

Glass work built for Washington DC houses.

We are a District glass shop, not a suburban company that drives in. Row houses, converted flats, new-build condos and 14th Street retail bays all have their own quirks — plaster walls that lean, curbs poured out of level, freight elevators with a 7-foot ceiling — and we template around them rather than sending glass back for a re-cut.

Most of our District work is frameless enclosures in Victorian row-house bathrooms where nothing is square, structural balustrades on open-tread staircases, and storefront glazing along the 14th Street and H Street corridors.

Questions

Washington DC FAQ.

Do you work in historic districts?

Yes. Interior glass — shower enclosures, railings, partitions, mirrors — is generally outside historic review. Exterior storefront and window work in a historic district usually is not, and we will tell you at estimate whether HPRB review is likely before you commit.

Can you get glass into a narrow row house?

Almost always. We measure the stair turn and the door swing at template, and fabricate panel sizes that will physically make the trip. Where a panel genuinely will not fit we redesign the layout rather than discovering the problem on install day.

How long does a frameless shower door take?

From template to install is typically one to two weeks, because we fabricate in our own shop rather than waiting on an outside supplier.

Do you charge for an estimate in Washington DC?

No. Measure and estimate are free throughout Washington, DC. Send photos and rough dimensions and we can often give you a working number before we visit.
